In America, newer generations feel less and less connected to Jewish tradition and the State of Israel. Many young Jews view anti-Semitism as a challenge of the past, not as a current issue with relevance to their own lives. And yet, recent studies indicate that some of the more conventional methods of reaching out to young Jews are no longer sufficient. Detachment from Israel and from the Jewish community is becoming an increasingly critical concern.
Recognizing the need to enhance the connection of young Jews to their heritage, MZ Foundation supports learning opportunities that translate meaningful experiences into deeply held values. First-hand encounters such as service learning trips to Israel, action-oriented programs on anti-Semitism, and dynamic young leadership groups are examples of programs we fund in this important area.
